Why are smaller quantities more expensive?

You will find that the cost of smaller quantities of customized products are much more expensive per piece if compare to larger quantity. This is because in any production big or small the processes are the same. Maybe the raw material for larger quantity is slightly more but the initial set-up cost is still the same. Artwork, films, screens (one for each colour), wares and packaging are a must-have and the only variables are the printing, transfer and firing time. You can imagine if the set-up cost is RM200, to print 100pcs will be RM2 per piece while for 1,000 pieces the set-up cost will only be RM0.20 per piece. Moreover, if you need more colour prints, the cost will be much higher. Unlike offset printing where they used 4 major colours to achieve the full colour spectrum but for the best result in ceramic printing, we use spot colours to achieve the different colour of your design. Therefore, in offset printing, many jobs can be compile and print together to reduce the cost but in our case , no two designs has similar colours so we will need to print one job at a time.

The optimum cost vs quantity will be 500pcs per design and as the quantity goes higher, the cost will be lower and vice versa.  However, we understand that everyone has a different need. Sometimes the quantity needed could be only 30 or 40 pieces and for that we will offer a minimum cost as a package. Usually this will be the equivalent cost for 50 pieces of the similar design.
